Tim McDougald, CPA, CA. Tim is a founding partner at 2M Accounting and has spent most of his 17 year career working as a Canadian tax and business advisor at large accounting firms. He did spend five years away from public accounting where he managed an in-house tax team for a Waterloo-based public company. As a result, Tim has a strong understanding of the unique issues that businesses face. Tim graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University's school of business with an honours BBA degree. He has also completed CPA Canada's 3-year In-Depth Tax Course as well as CPA Canada's In-Depth International Tax and In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations Courses.
Tim's recent experience has been primarily in assisting owner-managed businesses to effectively structure and manage their business operations and personal finances in a tax-effective manner. Additionally, Tim has extensive knowledge of tax accounting guidance, tax compliance best practices and has helped numerous clients with business acquisition and divestiture decisions.
Outside of the office, Tim is very active in local sports - participating in the Ayr Sportsmen Hockey League, the Ayr Slo-Pitch League, and the Ayr Adult Soccer League. When not playing sports himself, he can often be found at the hockey rink or soccer fields either coaching or watching his three children play.
Todd McEachern, MAcc, CPA, CA. Todd is a founding Partner at 2M Accounting with significant professional experience in financial statement preparation, tax compliance, tax advisory and estate planning. Todd graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo’s Professional Accounting School earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. Todd has also completed CPA Canada’s 3-year In-Depth Tax Course.
Todd brings to 2M Accounting over 9 years of professional experience from a large international public accounting firm, as well as some corporate tax experience at one of the largest companies in Canada. However, his small-town roots have brought him back to his hometown of Ayr. Todd is excited to assist clients in Ayr and the surrounding regions by providing timely and high-quality accounting and tax services to meet their business and personal objectives. Outside of the office, Todd enjoys playing sports in his free time and is an avid golfer. Todd also participates in the Ayr Slo-Pitch League and is an Ayr Minor Hockey and Ayr Centennials Alumnus. Todd is active in the Ayr community and resides in town with his wife, Courtney, and daughter, Payton.
